Baron Island is an old seaside retreat occasionally available for private hire on a limited and selective basis upon reservation.
This is an invitation for your party to enjoy an island retreat in complete seclusion. Whether a couple or up to 21 persons, you and your guests are the only residents apart from your staff and island’s resident keepers. Your own Island for the duration of your reservation.
Imagine being picked up in the small fishing village of Los Nietos near Cartagena (Murcia), riding just 3 miles out to sea, arriving on a magnificent 220-acre private island and finding yourself transported back to a simpler time when life had fewer distractions and a slower pace. As you step into the beautiful historic buildings, you find them filled with items and furnishings dating old times. Yes, there are also modern amenities and comfortable accommodations, cell phone service, and Wi-Fi Internet connection. But once you arrive, the beauty of Baron Island –exclusive nature reserve – and the plethora of possible activities, offers you and your guests the opportunity to truly relax or keep active but leave behind mainland worries.
Activities & Amenities
Want to relax? Sit back on the porch with views of the sea and neighboring islands. You might see a muflon , or other wildlife, with little but your own conversation to break the tranquility. You might decide to nap in a hammock, read a book, or explore Baron Island and its well preserved nature and historic buildings and sites.
Feeling active? Grab a kayak and go for a paddle around the rocky coasts and beaches of Baron Island. Take a hike or comb the shores in search of small treasures (and collect plastic bits) that the sea deposits on the shores! If you like to swim, plunge into the refreshing cristal clear salt water and then warm up in the outdoor shower.
Boating (sailing or rowing), swimming, fishing, windsurfing, water sports or hiking in our stunning and exclusive Nature Reserve, Baron Island, in Mar Menor (Murcia, Spain).

The tennis court is also our Helicopter landing pad. Enjoy competition? Gather a group together for a friendly game of croquet, volleyball, or badminton. You can raise the ante with a little wager – the loser has to wash the dinner dishes!

Mar Menor is home to both traditional and modern high performance sailing.
